The mysterious and vibrant spirit of autumn is brought to life by the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra's season opener, Into Midnight. A captivating journey through the mysterious and vibrant spirit of autumn, devilish fiddle music and eerie xylophonic skeletons awaken restless spirits under a moonlit sky in Saint-Saëns's Danse macabre. Swap that skeleton onesie for spurs and leather, the dancing continues with Four Dance Episodes from Copland's Rodeo. The heartfelt yearning of the American west is a sound every American recognizes, and it's Copland's signature style. The tender longing of a cowgirl's quest for love is captured in this beautiful and recognizable ballet suite. The concert closes with Brahms's Symphony No. 3, a deeply expressive work filled with bittersweet reflection and quietly soaring passion. Enjoy the evocative blend of haunting thrills, lively rhythms, and emotional depth as we step Into Midnight and explore the music of Saint-Saëns, Copland, and Brahms.
