The Beaverton Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce the appointment of Pierre-Alain Chevalier as its new Music Director, effective July 1, 2024. Maestro Chevalier brings a wealth of expertise and artistic vision to the orchestra.
Pierre-Alain is widely recognized for his dynamic programming, commitment to artistic excellence, and community-centered approach toward programming and performance. His passion for music education and community engagement align perfectly with the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra's mission to inspire and enrich the lives of audiences through exceptional musical experiences.
"We are delighted to welcome Pierre-Alain to our musical family," said David Abbott, President of the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra. "His remarkable talent, combined with his dedication to fostering artistic growth and connecting with diverse audiences, make him the ideal leader for our orchestra as we embark on an exciting new chapter."
Prior to joining the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra, Pierre-Alain held several positions with orchestras and music institutions across the country. His extensive repertoire includes classical masterpieces, contemporary works, and innovative collaborations that push the boundaries of traditional orchestral performance.

"In the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra I have found like-minded musicians that care deeply about their art and its impact in their community. I'm honored to serve as we jump into a new chapter filled with the joy of music. As Music Director, Pierre-Alain will lead the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra in its mission to inspire audiences through live performances, educational initiatives, community outreach, and the Travis Hatton Young Artist Concerto Competition. His inaugural season will feature a diverse range of concerts, guest artists, and special events designed to showcase the orchestra's artistry and celebrate the rich tapestry of classical music.
